A chance meeting with an American Indian chief and his wife inspired Lewis bus company owner and driver Iain Morrison to find out more about his own roots in Canada’s aboriginal community.

Iain’s great great grandmother was one of a number of North American Indian women to come to Lewis in the 1800s as wives of Lewismen who worked for the Hudson’s Bay Company in Canada. In this poignant story, Iain attempts to piece together the story of his great great grandmother’s life and to investigate whether he has relatives within the Métis and First Nations communities in Canada today.

Shortlisted for Best Factual Single at the Celtic Media Festival in 2012.
